This chandelier began as an investigation in the use of a linear grid as a starting point for design. As a frame and bare bulbs were added, the story of Carl’s childhood began to emerge, including his time spent on Big Cottenwood Creek near Salt Lake City, Utah, where he swam, rafted, and fished as a 12-year-old boy. The energy of cascading water is expressed in twisted copper rod; Karen added white jasper balls to evoke the image of fish eggs tumbling down stream.
